 Karst LandscapeOur Bed & Breakfast accommodation is located on the Takaka Hill at the top of
New Zealand's South Island, halfway between Tasman Bay (Nelson & Motueka) and Golden Bay.
We're 700 metres
above sea level in a karst landscape of weather worn marble outcrops, found in only a few places in the world.
Just down the road Peter Jackson shot scenes of 'Chetwood
Forest' in his Lord of the Rings movie.
This is a unique area for a farmstay, you can feel removed from everyday life, but not remote, with views across Tasman Bay to Nelson and the Richmond Ranges. Walk across the farmland to sit under old beech trees and listen to the native birds or peer down the sinkholes into Middle Earth. We follow organic practices and use organic produce where ever possible.
Abel Tasman National Park and Kahurangi National Park are two of the ecotourism areas on our doorstep, where tramping and kayaking are popular outdoor activities.
We also offer the Ora Tea Stop for travellers over the Takaka Hill.
